40 A adjustable, metal enclosure, no app.
- 40 A
- No Wi-Fi
- Indoor/outdoor
Short version: the Grizzl-E Classic is the better buy if you want a tough, simple charger with no app, especially outdoors. The ChargePoint Home Flex is better if you want app scheduling, energy tracking, utility programs or up to 50 A when hardwired.
The Grizzl-E Classic plugs into a NEMA 14-50 outlet, is adjustable to 16, 24, 32 or 40 A, has a 24 ft cable and a metal indoor/outdoor enclosure, and has no Wi-Fi. The ChargePoint Home Flex supports NEMA 14-50, 6-50 or hardwiring, delivers up to 50 A hardwired (40 A on a plug), has a 23 ft cable and Wi-Fi app scheduling. Both use J1772.

The Grizzl-E does one thing: charge at up to 40 A from a NEMA 14-50 outlet. Its metal enclosure is rated for indoor and outdoor use, and there is no app or account to set up.
Most EVs can schedule charging from the car’s own app, so many owners never miss smart features. If your utility rebate requires a networked charger, though, it won’t qualify.
The Home Flex’s app handles scheduling and energy reporting, and its networked design is what many utility charger programs ask for.
Hardwired on a suitable circuit it can deliver up to 50 A; on a plug it tops out at 40 A, the same as the Grizzl-E.
Check your utility’s EV rebates before buying: some require a smart, networked charger.
ChargePoint has an app; Grizzl-E Classic has none.
Both give 40 A on a plug; ChargePoint reaches 50 A hardwired.
Grizzl-E Classic is a NEMA 14-50 plug; ChargePoint supports 14-50, 6-50 or hardwiring. Use a licensed electrician.
Both are J1772; NACS cars need an adapter.
For simplicity and toughness, yes. For smart features and utility programs, ChargePoint is better.
No.
Up to 50 A hardwired, or 40 A on a NEMA 14-50 or 6-50 plug.
Both have J1772 connectors, so a NACS-port car needs a J1772 adapter.
