How we choose
Last reviewed by Alex
Every guide on GadgetJuror follows the same process, and we tell you exactly what it is and isn't.
What we do
- Define the job first. We list what the product must do well for most people, and the failure modes owners complain about most.
- Gather evidence. Manufacturer specifications and manuals, published standards and safety guidance, independent lab measurements where they exist, and patterns in long-term owner reports and return policies. Every guide links its sources.
- Pick three, on purpose. A best overall pick for most people, a budget pick that does the core job for less, and a premium or alternative pick for people who will use the extra. Each comes with who should skip it.
- Verify the listing. Every Amazon link goes to a specific product page (not a search), and we check that the listing exists before we publish.
- Update. Each page shows its last update date. When a model is replaced or discontinued, we change the pick.
What we don't do
- We don't run a test lab and we don't claim hands-on testing.
- We don't publish star ratings, invented scores or testimonials.
- We don't accept payment for placement. Brands can't buy a pick.
- We don't show "deal ends soon" timers or fake stock warnings.
How we make money
Some links are affiliate links (for example Amazon Associates). If you buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See the disclosure.
How a pick is checked before it goes live
- Key specs in the comparison table come from the manufacturer's own product page or manual, or from a cited independent source.
- Where an independent measurement exists (for example lab data published by a standards body or a measurement site), it is cited and linked.
- Each product link is checked to point at the exact model named (for Amazon, by its product ID) before publishing.
- Every guide lists its sources at the bottom, so any claim can be traced.
Review schedule
Every guide is reviewed at least once every six months, and sooner when a pick is discontinued, replaced by a new model or recalled. Each guide shows its last-reviewed date at the top. Prices are not printed because they change daily; the retailer shows the live price.
